Privacy Policy
Effective July 30, 2026 · Applies to sabernotes.com, the Saber Notes Chrome extension, and the Saber Notes SMS service
Saber Notes turns meetings and notes into organized project summaries. It is operated by Reactivate, LLC. This policy describes what we collect, what we do with it, and — just as importantly — what we don't do. We've tried to keep it as plain as the product. Your use of Saber Notes is also governed by our Terms of Service.
What we collect
- Account information. Your name and email address, handled by our authentication provider, Clerk, when you sign up or sign in.
- Content you create. Notes, projects, imported documents, and the summaries, action items, and chat messages generated from them.
- Meeting audio (Chrome extension). When you explicitly start a recording, the extension captures the audio of the tab you chose — and your microphone only if you turn that option on. Audio is sent to our server in short chunks, transcribed, and immediately discarded: we never store your audio recordings. Only the text transcript is kept.
- Optional voice sample. If you enable speaker labeling, a short (~8 second) clip of your voice is stored, encrypted, and used only to label your speech by name in transcripts.
- Mobile number and text messages (SMS). If you choose to capture notes by text message, we store the mobile number you link in your settings, the record of your consent, and the messages you send to our Saber Notes number — which become notes in your workspace and are protected like any other note.
- API keys you provide. If you connect your own AI provider keys, they are stored encrypted and used only to make requests on your behalf.
How your content is protected
Notes, transcripts, summaries, and voice samples are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM using keys derived per user. Data is transmitted over HTTPS.
Who processes your data
We use a small number of service providers, strictly to run the product:
- Clerk — sign-in and account management.
- OpenAI — converts meeting audio to text.
- Anthropic — condenses transcripts into notes and generates summaries.
- Amazon Web Services — hosting.
- Twilio — carries text messages to and from the Saber Notes SMS number.
These providers process data solely to deliver the service. We have no ad networks and no analytics trackers on your notes.
What we don't do
- We do not sell or rent your data to anyone, ever.
- We do not use your content for advertising, or for any purpose other than providing Saber Notes to you.
- The extension does not track your browsing. It touches exactly one tab — the one you pressed Record on — and only while you're recording. Chrome shows a recording indicator on the tab the entire time.
- We do not store audio. Recordings exist only in memory long enough to be transcribed.
- Mobile information collected for SMS delivery will not be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties.
Text messaging
The Saber Notes SMS service is opt-in only. You opt in by adding and confirming your mobile number in your settings; we then use it solely to accept the notes you text in and to reply with a confirmation, an error, or a response to the HELP and STOP keywords. We send no marketing texts. You can opt out at any time by texting STOP to the Saber Notes number or removing the number from your settings, which deletes it from your account. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Full details are in the SMS section of our Terms of Service.
Retention and deletion
Your content stays in your workspace until you delete it. Deleting a note or project removes it from your workspace immediately. To delete your account and all associated data, email us and we'll take care of it promptly.
Recording responsibly
Depending on where you and other participants live, recording a conversation may require their consent. Saber Notes shows a recording indicator, but announcing the recording is your responsibility.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll note the new effective date here and, for significant changes, let you know in the product.
